The Best...

... Shopping Day Ever!

In preparation for my brave embarkment to the desolate, harsh state of Connecticut for a week. My dad and I decided that I must need survival supplies.
And by the way, the day after Christmas is probably the best day for shopping! Everything is at least 50% or more off, and then there's extra percents off of sale items. There is no better feeling than to arrive at the checkout counter and discover that sale item is further reduced! Doesn't feel often, so savor the moment when it happens to you.
Although I like to shop alone, but when I need to actually get shit done and buy things I need, there is no better shopping companion than JayZ (what I call my dad). He will make my decisions for me when I am wavering in between 5 pairs of jeans, and if he really doesn't like something I can't get it; but he is usually right about that item being hideous. However keeping up with him in the mall with boots on is a slightly difficult task, at least I got some work out in.
But the best part of all!!! HE PAYS! No more acts of sadness when I open my bank statement online!

  • Nice new pair of jeans that hopefully won't stretch too much- 30 dollars
  • Plaid flats-14 dollars
  • Warm down and my survivor coat-85 dollars
  • Cozy lamb wool sweater-40 dollars
  • New Suitecase to put it all in-110 dollars
  • Not dying of hypothermia in Narnia- PRICELESS.

Christmas Morning

This is my first blog post! I never thought I would do this because I was always too busy or procrastinated enough on my schoolwork that I never get a chance to do anything else. But I think this will be a good way for me to vent and share my thoughts and findings with the minute amount of people that are going to be reading this.. or just myself. But it still sounds like fun. Additionally I just moved to SC and I have no friends and I am stuck in the house all day, this will probably prevent me from getting split personality disorder because I would like to start off the new year psychosis free.
So some things that I want to include on future posts:
  • Recollection of interesting things that happen to me now and then.
  • Pictures of food and descriptions of how much I enjoyed them from my eating out experiences.
  • Pictures of food that I get to make (if I get to make any) and recipes. Or just recipes that I find online that look delicious and easy to make.
  • My bitter complaints about the world once in a while
  • Travel pictures and fun things I do
  • Occasional squirrel pictures because they are just adorable
  • Exciting news that I have to announce to the internet and possible strangers
  • Me wavering on what I want to do with my life and mostly what I don't want to do, because there are a lot more of those!

But seeing how it is Christmas, and of course you have to eat well on a holiday. And since brunch is my favorite, I want to share a recipe from. well of course. Giada! You can find the original recipe on Food network, but I'll just tell you my take when I made it. Enjoy! Munch away.

Mini Frittatas

Ingredients

  • Nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto, chopped
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan(or any cheese that melts well, such as white cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves
  • 3/4 chopped tomatoes, strain the liquid, so it's not too runny.
  • left out salt because the cheese and prosciutto bring enough salt.
  • Some hot sauce or red pepper flakes if you want to kick it up a bit.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Spray 2 mini muffin tins (each with 24 cups) with nonstick spray. Whisk the eggs, milk, pepper in a large bowl to blend well. Stir in the prosciutto, cheese, tomatoes and parsley. Fill prepared muffin cups almost to the top with the egg mixture. Bake until the egg mixture puffs and is just set in the center, about 8 to 10 minutes. Using a rubber spatula, loosen the frittatas from the muffin cups and slide the frittatas onto a platter. Serve immediately.

Perfect for finger food and good to eat cold too!

Oh and Merry Christmas:)
